Concept

GSK Vaccines organizes different kinds of races: Hackathons, Makeathons, or Datathons.

Hackathon

Participants develop functional prototypes to leverage digital technologies through a sprint

Digital technology: branch that deals with the creation and practical use of digital or computerized devices, methods, systems, etc. ​

Makeathon

Participants develop functional or non-functional prototypes to leverage deep technologies through a sprint

Deep technology: branch that deals with substantial scientific advances and high-tech engineering innovation.

Datathon

Participants develop a solution based on provided datasets leveraging Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science through a sprint

Ecosystem

Join GSK’s ecosystem, a combination of internal and external networks of experts in the Healthcare field and emerging technologies (including digital and deep technologies) and benefit from their knowledge and insights.

Financial Support

Depending on the maturity of the solution proposed, winners of the Hack Days will be invited by GSK either to: 

  • Implement the development plan of their solution, from prototype to a proof of concept of a minimum viable product, with a maximum budget of 15K€
  • Adapt as much as possible their already-existing solution to GSK's needs, with a maximum budget of 15K€

Mentoring

Receive coaching from GSK Mentors to help your solution development and adaptation to the vaccines’ world.

The race will start on November 18 with the launch of the crowdsourcing platform. Submit your idea, chat with experts from GSK, get insights and tech guidance.

How might we label our syringes or vials with information that can be updated after labelling such as specific country languages and data (e.g. Shelf life); with a follow-up on storage temperature (optional)?

How might we automatically generate the eCTD dossier sections starting from internal source documents?

This edition of the GSK Hack Days will be 100% virtual. This process has already proved itself many times with our collaborators.

Register on our platform until January 15, 2021 (12 am GMT+1) and submit your idea with a brief description – online support is available.

Step 3

Final race

February 10 & 11, 2021


Develop and pitch your idea, demonstrate your prototype in minutes and convince the jury to invest in your project.
